GoGreen Technologies, in partnership with leading institutions including ASID; Academy of International Law, the International Centre for Conflict, Peace & Legal Studies (Cameroon), IREX AI Inc. (USA), and Wilses Cyber Security Solutions (Zambia), proudly co-hosted a highly impactful two-day International Conference on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. This landmark event brought together experts, legal minds, students, and cybersecurity professionals to critically examine Africa’s digital vulnerabilities and explore practical strategies for safeguarding the continent’s digital future.
With the growing intersection between cybercrime and artificial intelligence, the conference emphasized the urgent need for innovation, awareness, and policy development across both public and private sectors. The theme resonated with Africa’s broader journey toward digital transformation in alignment with AU Vision 2063 and highlighted the importance of building resilient digital systems as a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth.

Day One Highlights – April 24, 2025
The conference began with participant registration and the official launch of training sessions, led by Hon. Mbua Peter Jr., Youth Parliamentarian for Fako and President of ASID Academy of International Law.
The day’s first technical session, presented by Mr. Obia Saron, explored the Cybersecurity Landscape in Africa, examining the tactics of cybercriminals and the systemic vulnerabilities that demand strategic intervention. His session provided a foundation for deeper discourse on Africa’s positioning within the global digital economy.
The afternoon featured Mr. Awejan Emmanuel, Executive Director of GoGreen Technologies, who delivered an inspiring session on Career Orientation in Cybersecurity, especially tailored to the growing interest among youth. His talk emphasized the role of digital literacy, sustainable innovation, and the need for localized tech solutions in combatting cybercrime.

Day Two Highlights – April 25, 2025
The second day delved into more technical and legal dimensions of cyber threats:
- Mr. Moses Mupeta, cybersecurity expert and lecturer, presented a session on “The Hidden Threat: The Emergence of Image-Embedded Bots in Hacking Techniques”, raising awareness on advanced cyberattack methodologies.
- Mr. Obia Saron returned with a critical analysis of Forensic Investigation and National Interest, challenging participants to consider the delicate balance between privacy and national security.
- A robust legal session led by Barrister Dr. Njissic Stephen Njilla, renowned cybersecurity expert and legal academic, unpacked the regulatory frameworks surrounding cyber laws across civil and common law systems in Africa. His insights were instrumental in highlighting legislative gaps and the pressing need for cyber law reforms.
The conference concluded with a closing ceremony and the awarding of certificates to participants, with remarks from Hon. Mbua Peter Jr. and Dr. Njissic Stephen Njilla, recognizing the importance of sustained collaboration across sectors.

Engaging Youth and Building Capacity
One of the major highlights was the enthusiastic engagement of students from the University of Buea, particularly those in engineering and computer science disciplines. Through intensive Q&A sessions, participants explored topics such as ethical hacking, forensic networking, penetration testing, and AI-driven cybercrime mitigation. Data presented by ANTIC (Cameroon’s National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies) further illustrated the alarming vulnerability of digital infrastructure in the region, sparking dialogue on strategies to bolster cybersecurity resilience.
