The Educating Youths on Digital Sustainability with Emphasis on the girl child (EYODS) Cohort 5 – Seminar began with a warm welcome speech from Ms. Ngonge Meiva, President of GoGreen Technologies club at the University of Buea. She expressed gratitude to all partners and participants, emphasizing the project’s vision to empower youths with relevant digital skills and inspire them to align their academic paths with future job markets. She reminded the audience that EYODS is not just a program; it is a launchpad for transformation.

Mr. Mbua Peter; founder and Executive Director of Alliance for Social Inclusion and Development (ASID) and Youth Parliamentarian inspired participants with a talk on How Youths Drive National Growth in a Tech-Evolving World. His session led to an engaging question which if:
- “How can we as students actively participate in national development outside politics?

Mr. Mugri Zadock from GITAWA illustrated how digital skills can be blended with traditional career paths such as agriculture, showing how youth can remain relevant and innovative across industries. This prompted insightful questions like:
- “How can I apply the internet to promote my career?” This particular question was explicitly addressed as Mr Zadock gave the participants a prompt that will help them identify a digital skill that aligns with their career path.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Awejan Emmanuel, delivered a profound address on discipline as a foundational value in the digital age. He explained that youth cannot maximize opportunity without personal accountability. His message sparked a reflective question, which is:
- “How do I build consistent discipline?”

Mr. Peter of USIMP guided the youth through the power of mentorship in building purpose-driven careers. His audience asked:
- “How do I find the right mentor for my field?”
- “What to look out for in a mentor?”

Both Mr. Mesape Prince (Youth Council) and Mr. Yeh (Mindas Group) also shared valuable opportunities and platforms available for youth engagement in digital growth.

From the questions and responses, you could clearly see that the messages from the different speakers were passed across.
Adding color to the event were two brilliant youth artists who wowed the audience with energizing performances that reinforced the theme and elevated the atmosphere.

Participants also received a breakdown of how the training will be structured. The event concluded with a grand family photo that captured the unity, excitement, and promise of EYODS Cohort 5.
