INTRODUCTION
The need for the Educating Youths On Digital Sustainability With Emphasis On The Girl Child-Cohort Six(6) project stems from the fact that traditional teaching techniques are gradually being replaced by digital learning. Given how quickly classrooms are changing, it is advisable to set aside teaching and learning strategies that one may recall from their time in school and investigate more contemporary techniques that make use of digital learning tools and technologies. Digital learning can be implemented in the classroom in a number of ways, such as using tablets in place of paper or replacing simple pens with sophisticated software and tools. With the use of digital learning and technology, youth can acquire effective self-directed learning skills.
They are able to recognize the knowledge they still need, locate and utilize internet resources, apply that knowledge to the issue at hand, and even assess the input they get. As a result, their output and efficiency both increase. In addition to being captivated by digital learning and technology, young people also acquire critical thinking abilities, which are crucial for the development of analytical reasoning.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS TRAINING COURSE
- Develop the skills and confidence of educators in the appropriate and effective use of digital technology to support learning and teaching.
- Improve access to digital technology for all learners
- Ensure that digital technology is a central consideration in all areas of curriculum and assessment delivery.
- Empower youths especially the girl child on change to drive innovation and investment in digital technology for learning and teaching.
- Building Digital Entrepreneurs that will shape the world of Technology in Africa.
PROJECT GOAL
By the end of Educating Youths On Digital Sustainability With Emphasis On The Girl Child- Cohort Six(6) , we must have empowered at least 1050 young people, with a particular emphasis on girls in Buea, Cameroon. These youths will either create work opportunities for themselves by developing their digital and computer abilities, or they will be given opportunities to find employment as skilled citizens.
MISSION OF THE EDUCATING YOUTHS ON DIGITAL SUSTAINABILITY WITH EMPHASIS ON THE GIRL CHILD- COHORT 6

VISION OF THE EDUCATING YOUTHS ON DIGITAL SUSTAINABILITY WITH EMPHASIS ON THE GIRL CHILD- COHORT 6
To empower the youth especially the girl child with the knowledge and skills needed to become digital sustainability champions, shaping a future where technology is harnessed for positive global impact, innovation, and self-reliance.
PROJECT SUMMARY
The major goal of the project is to provide young people, particularly females, with the essential digital skills they need to thrive and positively impact today’s fast changing world. The initiative aims to provide young people from underprivileged backgrounds with the necessary skills and resources to enter the workforce or start their own digital businesses by tackling the difficulties associated with the digital divide.
Through this initiative, we hope to address the issue of how limited access to digital learning and employment prospects disproportionately affects young people without work in crisis-prone locations. The primary objective of Buea City’s capacity building effort is to reduce unemployment by providing in-depth teaching in digital sustainability to at least 1050 teenagers, with a concentration on girls.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
In this era of rapid technological advancement, digital learning is rapidly displacing traditional teaching methods. However, this shift is not keeping up with the changing requirements of our youth, especially those affected by the ongoing issues in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions. Many youths, particularly females, have lost their familiar environments, and substantial obstacles stand in the way of their ability to pursue excellent educational and employment opportunities. Furthermore, the high rate of unemployment among young people can be attributed to their lack of IT skills, which are highly valued in today’s job market.
The disparity in technical skills and digital literacy further marginalizes youth, especially girls, and reduces their ability to contribute to economic development and secure sustainable livelihoods. In order to empower adolescents, particularly females, and provide them with the fundamental digital skills and information they need for sustainable futures, it is imperative that this issue be addressed.
RATIONALE OF THE PROJECT
This project aims to empower Buea’s youth, male and female, with or without computer education, especially those who have relocated from war-torn areas. We started this project in response to a pressing need we observed in our community. A large number of youth are facing challenges relating to e-learning and job-related issues as a result of the persistent Anglophone issues. By addressing these issues, our effort makes use of secondary sources to guarantee that it is pertinent at the local and national levels. Our goal is to improve these young people’s chances in the face of adversity by providing them with the digital skills they need to navigate the modern world.
PROPOSED PROGRAM
The primary objective of the initiative is raising the educational standards for young people in the direction of digital sustainability. The project’s particular objective is to engage Buea’s children in the advocacy of youth digital education and support. to enhance the quality of life of youth by incorporating digital development into the primary tasks that need to be accomplished.
