Educating Youths On Digital Sustainability Cohort 3 Project Introduction

Digital learning is replacing traditional education methods more and more each day. With how rapidly classrooms are changing, it is best to forget methods one may remember from when one was in school and start thinking about newer teaching and learning techniques based on digital learning tools and technologies.

The inclusion of digital learning in the classroom can vary from simply using tablets instead of paper to using elaborate software programs and equipment as opposed to the simple pen. Digital learning and technology enable youths to develop effective self-directed learning skills. They are able to identify what they need to learn, find and use online resources, apply the information on the problem at hand, and even evaluate resultant feedback. This increase their efficiency and productivity.

In addition to engaging youth, digital learning and technology sharpens critical thinking skills, which are the basis for the development of analytic reasoning.

Objectives of this training course

  • Develop the skills and confidence of educators in the appropriate and effective use of digital technology to support learning and teaching.
  • Improve access to digital technology for all learners
  •  Ensure that digital technology is a central consideration in all areas of curriculum and assessment delivery.
  • Empower youths of change to drive innovation and investment in digital technology for learning and teaching.
  • Building Digital Entrepreneurs that will shape the world of Technology in Africa.

Project summary

By the end of this project, at least 1000 unskilled and unemployed youths who have some level of education, and even those who don’t have any will be trained and skilled with digital knowledge which will bridge the existing gaps of high literacy rate of with rather to computer knowledge. We will try to established a center where youths will get the facilities of computer and internet use. In this way, they will be able to continue with the basic knowledge they most have gotten from the training.

Problem statement

In this era of rapid digital transformation, traditional education methods are being rapidly supplanted by digital learning. However, this shift is not keeping pace with the changing needs of our youth, especially those affected by the ongoing crises in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon. Many young people have been displaced from their familiar surroundings, and their access to quality education and employment opportunities has been severely constrained.

GoGreen Technologies (GG Tech) recognizes the pressing need to empower these youths by providing comprehensive training in digital sustainability. Our mission is to equip them with essential skills and knowledge to adapt and thrive in the digital age, overcoming the challenges posed by the ongoing crises and limited access to traditional learning resources.

Rationale of the project

This project aims to empower both male and female youths in Buea, including those who have relocated from conflict-affected areas, with or without computer education. Our initiative stems from the pressing need we’ve identified in our local community. With the ongoing Anglophone crises, many youths are grappling with E-learning challenges and job-related issues.

By addressing these issues, our project draws from secondary sources to ensure its relevance at both the local and national levels. We are committed to equipping these young individuals with the digital skills they need to navigate the modern world effectively, thus improving their prospects in the face of adversity.

Proposed Program

The overall objective of this project is to improve the educational standard of the youths toward the digital sustainability.
