Closing Ceremony – Skilled Workforce Project Cohort 2 Overview
The Closing Ceremony of the Skilled Workforce Project Cohort 2 marked the official end of a two-month journey (July 5 – September 8, 2025), where youths in Buea were equipped with market-driven skills in Software Development, Digital Marketing, and Project Management. The ceremony was both a celebration of achievement and a reflection of the program’s vision to reduce youth unemployment by empowering a generation of skilled professionals.

Highlights of the Ceremony
Arrival & Opening: Guests, partners, and stakeholders were welcomed at 12:00 PM. The event began at 1:00PM.
Opening & Executive Director’s Address:
He restated the project’s long-term goal of reducing youth unemployment in Buea by 3% within five years and gave a two-month rundown of activities, including typing practice, book reviews (No Excuses and Atomic Habits), African storytelling, hands-on projects with partners, and discipline-building through signed engagement forms and punctuality fines.
Keynote Speeches:
- Mr. Lukong Christian, Coordinator of Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), shared his personal journey and encouraged participants to embrace resilience, hard work, and dedication in pursuing professional success.

- Mr. Fritz Karlson, CEO & Founder of Tangento, spoke on the importance of building a strong portfolio and positioning oneself for global opportunities, reminding youths that skills without visibility are underutilized.

African Stories Showcase:
Two participants demonstrated their public speaking skills by narrating African stories:
- Anyizi Faith Nkwetta (Project Manager) spoke on The Agojie of Dahomey, drawing lessons on resilience and the power of women in leadership and service.

- Ukemofa Greatness spoke on Thomas Sankara, drawing lessons on visionary leadership and integrity.

Accolades: Recognition was given to Project Manager Anyizi Faith Nkwetta and her assistant Kuchambi Nkwame Nkrumah, supported by Boya Bernadette, Enokenwa Annafalon, Mbei Promise, and other interns, for organizing and executing the ceremony successfully.
Partners’ Recognition: GG Tech acknowledged Awejan Brand, GG Tech Travels, Fexify, The Creative Family (TCF), and Fexify Studios for their mentorship, practical work opportunities, and project documentation.
