The Educating Youths on Digital Sustainability with Emphasis on the Girl Child (EYODS Cohort 6) Seminar was successfully organized by GoGreen Technologies as the official launch of the sixth cohort of the program. The seminar aimed to introduce participants to the training program, expose them to opportunities in the digital economy, and encourage the acquisition of practical digital skills.

The event recorded an attendance of approximately 180 participants, all drawn from the University of Buea. Participants represented a wide range of academic disciplines including Business Law, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Sciences, Public Administration, and programs within the College of Technology, demonstrating the growing interest in digital skills across different fields of study.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by the Club President, Ms. Ngonge Meiva, the keynote presentation was delivered by Mr. Awejan Emmanuel, Founder of GoGreen Technologies, on the topic “Why Digital Skills and AI Are No Longer Optional for This Generation.” Participants were introduced to the importance of digital transformation, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence in today’s workforce followed by an artistic performance by Kliff.

A detailed training briefing and course orientation were subsequently conducted, during which participants were introduced to the various training tracks offered under EYODS Cohort 6. The course outline was presented by Mr. Yuh Romeo (GG TECH’s volunteer), after which students were assigned to their respective courses and briefed by their tutors.
Overall, the seminar was a success, achieving its objective of mobilizing and preparing youths for digital skills training while fostering enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment among participants.
